My name is Andrea Waters. I was born and raise in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil and I moved to Santa Cruz, California in 1984. I was twenty years old and came to the U.S. full of hopes and dreams, but unfortunately 18 months after my arrival, I was involved in a near fatal car accident that changed the course of my life. After surviving a coma, many serious surgeries and two and a half dreadful months in intensive care, I made a decision that changed the course of my life. When I finally walked out of the hospital with all shattered dreams, I decided that I would dedicate the rest of my life searching for God and the real purpose for my life. My journey as a truth seeker lasted about 25 years and it took me all over the world as I kept looking for answers. I studied every spiritual path I could find and I learned a whole lot about what different spiritual pats and religion say about God. It took me a long time but eventually I found what I was looking for; a fulfilling relationship with my loving & merciful Heavenly Father. At the bottom of this page you can read more about my journey if you would like.
This blog is dedicated to all sincere seekers of truth who are ready to discover the greatest love they can ever know. The Love of Jesus Christ.
Knowing Christ and making His love known to others is my passion, my greatest joy and the real purpose of my life. This blog is for everyone who wants to know Jesus Him more intimately.
Perhaps you grew up in a Christian home, going to church on Sundays, and learned a lot “about” Jesus, but have never had a real encounter with Him. Or maybe you have loved Him your whole life, but have never felt transformed by His love for you. Some of you may have been hurt by “religious” or judgmental Christians, or felt abandoned by God in at some point in your life and decided to forget about Christians, the Church or Jesus.
Perhaps you are a spiritual seeker who does not like religion and have been on an exciting journey exploring many different spiritual paths, and now you are ready to “check out” Jesus in a more intimate way. Maybe you are a devout Muslim, or a Hindu or a Buddhist or a Jew or a devoted disciple of another religious path who is simply curious about Christ. No matter how you got to this page, I am very honored that our paths have crossed and I am glad you are here. Welcome to my bog.
It is my prayer that the information you will find on these posts will help ignite your passion to know Jesus more intimately. As you learn about who He is, what He said, what He did, and what it means to walk in fellowship with Him, you will discover that His Love can and will transform your life. Indeed He has transformed mine!
I look forward to connecting with you as we grow in the Joy of Knowing the Living Christ!
*And here is a little more about my journey…
As I shared in the beginning of this page, after the accident I spent about 25 years searching for the truth. I traveled all over the world and studied just about every spiritual path I could find. From Hinduism, to Buddhism, to Sufism, Taoism, Kabbalah, Native American, New Age, and New Thought spirituality. I also got certifications in several modalities of counseling and healing and went on to become an ordained interfaith minister. After graduating from the interfaith seminary in Philadelphia, I co-founded and co-directed a non-profit organization called Common Ground Interfaith Fellowship. I hosted monthly gatherings and weekly programs created to foster dialogue and understanding among diverse religious and cultural groups.
My experience as the spiritual director of Common Ground lasted 4 years and taught me a whole lot about spirituality. Being exposed to leaders from different faiths helped me to develop a deep respect for all seekers of truth. Also, meeting and working closely with many well known spiritual leaders helped me see, even more clearly, that all their spiritual paths contradicted one other. The more I explored, the more I became uncomfortable and un-settled. I intuitively knew one thing about truth. And that is the fact that Truth can’t contradict itself. Our modern idea that there are “many truths” is actually pretty absurd. Yes, there are many beliefs about Truth, however, the real Truth can be only One! I finally discovered that The Ultimate Truth I was looking for could not be found in science, or philosophy or in a religious doctrine. Real Truth could be found in a Person. And His name is Jesus. Indeed Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, The Alpha and the Omega, the Creator and the only One who can save us from our sins and restore us to who we were created to be.
Now, 32 years after my near death experience, (and nine of those as a follower of Christ,) I can say that I have found what I was looking for all those years in my youth.
I have been married to the love of my life for almost ten years now, and even though we have faced many difficult challenges, Jesus’ Unfailing Love has always sustained us and brought us peace. My husband and I can say from experience that there is no greater Love than the love of God found in Jesus the Christ.
Thanks for taking the time to read about my life. I pray that you will be blessed as you read my posts.
